Ya Shi Xiang (鸭屎香) is one of the best-known and most popular Feng Huang Dan Cong varieties, an oolong from the Phoenix Mountains (Fenghuangshan) in Guangdong province. The name literally translates as "duck dropping aroma," but the tea has nothing in common with such a smell: according to legend, the owner of these unique trees came up with the name to hide the value of the variety from competitors.
Today Ya Shi Xiang is regarded as a pearl among Guangdong oolongs for its vivid aroma, complex flavor and ability to stay rich after many infusions.
