Jin Jun Mei ("Golden Eyebrows," 金骏眉) is one of the most famous black teas of China, from the Wuyi Mountains in Fujian province. The name refers to the golden down on the buds, which resembles fur. This is grade 2 in our assortment.
The variety appeared relatively recently, in the late 20th century, and quickly became a symbol of modern Chinese tea making. The raw material is only young buds picked in early spring; by description, they come from bushes in the mountainous Wuyishan area near Tongmu village. The tea is soft and sweet, with a pleasant aroma of honey and flowers.
