Ginseng Oolong is a fragrant oolong tea in which oolong leaves are combined with ginseng and other herbs. The leaves for mainland ginseng oolong are harvested in the southern part of Fujian province. This tea is also called "Jade" oolong: the tightly rolled leaves look like small pebbles.
The shape comes from a special process. Fresh ginseng and tea leaves are sun-dried and ground into powder, then licorice extract and other herbs are added. The leaves are rolled and twisted in this mixture and then lightly fired dry, so each leaf is coated with a thin layer of ginseng powder.
