Shu pu-erh from 2018, grown in Lancang, is an aged tea with a soft, deep and noble character. This cake is made from the "Bai Hao Gong Ting" (白毫宫廷) grade: small, carefully selected leaf with buds, which after fermentation opens up with an especially smooth and rich flavor.
Over time the sharpness of young shu pu-erh fades and the flavor becomes more unified and calm, which is exactly what a year of aging adds to this tea. The cake wrapper features an elephant, a symbol of calm, wisdom and nobility, which suits the mood of the tea very well.
