Jasmine flowers (molihua, 茉莉花) are a classic fragrant ingredient of Chinese tea culture. Jasmine buds and blossoms make delicate infusions, and combined with green tea they create the famous jasmine tea.
The dried flowers can be brewed on their own: the drink turns out light, fragrant, and soft, without caffeine. Molihua is also added to green, white, and oolong tea to give them a floral aroma. In a glass gaiwan or teapot, the flowers unfurl beautifully.
