The "Ebony Wood" Tea Tray (Chaban) is a small tea table made of solid dark ebony. It is a strict, expressive piece for those who value the natural texture of wood and simple forms. The design has no trays or removable lids, so the tray looks whole and understated.
In the photo, the tray is almost black, with a smooth surface and a low rim around the perimeter. Near the top edge, a carved inlay of light wood with an ornament is set in. It is the only decoration and contrasts beautifully with the dark board.
Characteristics
- Type: Tea Tray (Chaban, tea table)
- Material: solid dark ebony
- Size: 32×20×3 cm
- Drainage: a hole in the surface and one in the end of the board for attaching a drain hose
- Tray and removable lid: none
How to Use
For draining water, there is a hole in the end of the board to which a hose can be attached if needed. The tray also suits "dry brewing" (Gan Pao), when teaware is placed on a dry surface without extra water.
Care
- After tea, wipe the surface with a soft cloth and let the wood dry.
- Do not leave water on the board for long and do not wash the tray in a dishwasher.
- Avoid direct sunlight and strong heat.
